Procurement Manager

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join our existing Supply Chain team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, components, and services necessary for battery production plant in Arendal.

The role requires strong negotiation skills, effective supplier relationship management, and a deep understanding of procurement best practices with the ability to prioritize. The position is based in Arendal and will also support our R&D center in Grimstad.

Key Responsibilities:

• Development, implementation, and improvement of procurement processes; procedures, best practices, methods, and tools to ensure the timely supply of high-quality materials and components, spare parts and services.
• Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable terms including contract follow up.
• Lead and manage the procurement operations, ensuring smooth execution of purchasing activities across various categories.
• Monitor market trends and conduct supplier performance evaluations to ensure continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with internal teamss like: production, research & development, quality assurance and maintenance to align procurement activities with business needs.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards in all procurement activities.
• Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance to senior management.

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Law, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in manufacturing or a related industry with focus on operational procurement.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in English, other languages are a plus
• Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and drive cost savings.
• Knowledge of procurement software and tools, preferably SAP.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Be self-driven to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with international procurement and global supply chain management.
